Canberra City Band – Live Orchestra.

Canberra City Band (CCB) was historically coined ‘the official band of the ACT’ and remains Australia’s oldest and longest-running community concert band. AVA – Blues country.

Accomplished singer-songwriter AVA Martina heralds from the Northern Beaches of Sydney but currently resides in Canberra. AVA has recently released her debut EP, Peculiar Minds, and Ms Self Destructive is the lead track. What’s immediately apparent from this foray into some pleasing blues country terrain is AVA’s lustrous voice. It slides over the guitar-based backing, effortlessly providing a series of pacifying melodies. This compelling combination conjures a noon sprawl in the back garden, the sun marinating the air. AVA has that going on here. Smart Casual – Known for surfing the gnarly waves of Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra’s newest surf-rock act Smart Casual will also be joining us! Featuring dual guitars and buttery vocals from multiple members of the band, they’re loved by Mums across the Capital, and while they may be new, 2022 is shaping up to be their year. Come and have a boogie with these ridiculously groovy individuals!

Kashia, Salale and Koebi Faumui are a vocal group who’ve been singing and performing together for over eight years. Predominately raised and influenced by gospel and acapella music from a young age, all three have been classically trained in piano and also play guitar, bass, ukulele, trumpet, Cajon and drums. “The Americans have The Jacksons, the British The Bee Gees & we’ve got The Faumuis”

Sam Sly is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally form the South Coast, now living in Canberra. Sam Sly has a passion for writing, recording, producing and performing her original music. Her music is inspired by many different genres of contemporary music to create a unique, new pop sound. This creates songs with dynamic movements, layered production and powerful vocal performances.

Kix Arts Productions is excited to present a Seasonal Soiree featuring the High Kix Cabaret follies & Tap KixHoofers. Based at Bom Funk Dance Studio in Queanbeyan, these performers are trained by International entertainment experts from as far as the Moulin Rouge in Paris and Radio City Rockettes in NYC, now based here in Canberra!

Our Tap Kix dancers love to play around with rhythm, beats and experiment with sound. They enjoy the challenge of blending traditional tap with modern street tap and combining this with an artistic and entertaining twist! The High Kix line consists of 12 glamorous ladies whose individual personalities will entertain and excite all audiences. There is nothing risqué about this group – it is pure elegance with a hint of cheeky fun! Come and see them in their Merry Kix-mas Seasonal Soiree at Canberra’s Christmas in July Festival!

MAXO is an Australian artist based in Canberra. From a young age, the artist had a passion for losing himself in the magic of the guitar and songwriting and has since dedicated his life to music, becoming addicted to the adrenaline rush of performing. Finding himself playing in front of tens of thousands of people after winning his city’s talent competition, a portal of opportunity opened and from then onwards, he has not looked back. MAXO’s energising music feels timeless and colourful, with a burst of subtle country/folk production and flavour from his globe-trotting travels around the US.

Kim Yang.

Inspired by Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver, Taiwanese-Australian songstress Kim Yang writes music on love, death and mental health issues with evocative lyrics, driving melodies and soaring vocals. Her ethereal blend of sounds balances delicately between vulnerability and power. Since 2019 Kim has released 2 EPs and received various grants from ArtACT, including to produce her upcoming new project. Her music has been aired regularly on Double J radio and premiered on triple J. She is a regular at bigs gigs and festivals, including the National Folk Festival earlier this year with her band.
