FAQ
Where is it located?
🎄 Canberra Christmas in July
Patrick White Lawns — right between the National Library of Australia and Lake Burley Griffin.
It’s an easy stroll from many Civic or National Triangle landmarks!
🎄 Sydney Christmas in July
The Rocks — near Circular Quay, tucked between George Street and Playfair Street, behind the MCA and just steps from the Harbour.
Look out for fairy lights, mulled wine, and festive music — you won’t miss it!
Is the Fire Pit Experience suitable for kids? How much does it cost?
Absolutely! It’s a family-friendly festive moment, even for the tiniest elves—just make sure they’re supervised at all times around the fire (no rogue reindeer behaviour, please).
✨ No minimum age
✨ Kids under 6 enter FREE and don’t count towards your booking headcount
✨ Just book for the adults, and bring the littlies along for the ride!
Think of it as the cosiest campfire north of Sydney—with s’more fun for all.
Where exactly is the Firepit Cinema in The Rocks?
Right in the heart of the winter magic!
The Firepit Cinema is located on the lawn in front of Cadmans Cottage, just off George Street in The Rocks. Picture crackling firepits, fairy lights, mulled wine in hand, and your favourite festive film flickering under the stars.
The cinema opens 30 minutes before each session so you’ll have time to grab your drinks, snacks, and settle in fireside before the movie begins.
Seating is unallocated, so we recommend arriving early if you’re coming as a group and would like to be seated together. Our team will do their best to accommodate, but spots are first-come, first-served.
Look for the glow, follow the scent of popcorn and toasted marshmallows — and you’ll find us. If you hit the harbour, you’ve gone too far!
Is it free entry?
You bet your baubles it is! Entry to the Christmas in July Festival is totally FREE.
Some experiences and treats do require paid tickets or purchases—but the festive spirit? That’s on the house.
Any age restrictions?
None at all! Open to kids and kids at heart—just bring your Christmas spirit (or a candy cane, that works too).
Can I bring my dog?
Yes and no, fur-parent!
🐶 Pooches are welcome in the general festival area (and we can’t wait to meet them!).
🔥 But for safety reasons, the Fire Pit area is a no-go for pups.
We want tails wagging safely, so thanks for understanding.
Can I bring a pram?
Of course! Whether you’re pushing a sleigh or a stroller, prams are welcome across the event.
What are the experiences on offer?
So many you’ll feel like you’ve landed in the North Pole!
